Oh hey there! Just little old coffee-less me over here! It’s currently Friday and I have almost made it through my coffee intervention! It definitely has been a long week but it honestly has not been as rough as I was imagining it to be! The past few days have been a breeze compared to the first two days but I did want to keep track of how many times coffee came across my mind in these few days and damn—I think of coffee way more than I thought I did! Since Wednesday morning, I have thought of coffee or espresso 33 times. Now remember that Friday isn’t even over yet! Also, out of those two and half days, I was sleeping for about 18 hours so that leaves about 42 hours for me to think about coffee. I THOUGHT ABOUT COFFEE APPROXIMATELY EVERY HOUR AND A HALF! This was crazy for me because before now, I’m sure I thought of coffee at a similar rate but I never realized how often that actually was!
The past few days haven’t been that bad in regards to being coffee-less! I haven’t experienced headaches or any other signs of withdrawal! I think that this was an interesting experiment for me to do because while I did know that coffee was a big part of my life, I wasn’t able to see how huge that part actually was. My friends keep asking if I’ve caved in yet and I’m proud to say that I have stuck to my promise and haven’t given into it yet! They also claim that when Sunday comes, I’m going to go overboard with coffee and I’m sure that could be a possibility but I imagine myself just edging back into drinking coffee again. I realized that finals are coming up soon and coffee will definitely be something that I will be indulging in that week so I’m glad that I did a coffee detox now! Coffee is an amazing substance but I think that people don’t realize the type of control it can have on you! I definitely won’t stop drinking coffee all together but I have learned that just like anything else, it is important to enjoy it in moderation. I’m actually excited to see what the next two days hold for me as my coffee intervention comes to an end. Who knows—maybe I’ll have some revolutionary epiphany or something!
Oh also, here's some latte art just because it's a beautiful rosetta and why not!
Cheers!
